One of Katie’s favorite assignments is depicting the first moments of a baby’s life in a photojournalistic style. The stunning black and white images of the family and infant following delivery are irreplaceable and priceless. With the First Moments of Life package clients receive 25 black and white 4x6 inch prints.

The cost for this package is $595 and includes on-call time as labor progresses and up to three hours on location at the time of labor and delivery. Additional time is billed at $95 per hour.

Some clients choose to begin the photography prior to delivery. Katie is known for her professionalism in discreetly documenting the highly emotional events that rapidly unfold following delivery- the baby’s first cry, the moment the baby is placed on the mother’s chest and the first time the father/family holds the little one. Generally, the most special images are taken immediately upon the birth of the baby. Other clients choose to have Katie begin up to 30 minutes post delivery. Your family’s comfort is of utmost priority as Katie records the unique and significant moments of birth.

If you are considering the First Moments of Life package, please contact Katie for a consultation as soon as possible. Katie is often scheduled well in advance of the delivery due date so as not to risk schedule conflicts with other photography assignments. Upon commissioning Katie to photograph your baby’s first moments, you will be asked to keep in contact with Katie as the due date approaches. Once labor begins and as it progresses you should alert Katie. Prior to labor, a discussed and agreed upon progression point will signal Katie to leave for the hospital or your home. Due to the unpredictable schedules of births and the nature of this service, there can be no guarantees.
